Billbergia has a clear and entrenched environmental policy and has built a solid reputation for creating ecologically sustainable communities in highly accessible growth areas.
Every Billbergia apartment enjoys thermal break double-glazing and acoustic dampening that combine to conserve energy and minimise noise.
Reverse cycle air conditioning supplies quiet comfort whatever the weather.
An example of Billbergia’s sustainable development capability is presented at Wentworth Point Marinas. This multi-stage development has been awarded one of the highest environmental ratings in Australia, with apartments designed to reduce energy consumption and reduce water usage through positioning the apartments to minimise direct heat in the living areas, maximise cross flow ventilation and create viable solar energy and hot water generation.
Prior to the commencement of construction of Wentworth Point Marinas, Billbergia managed the complicated task of preparing the environmentally sensitive land that had been reclaimed from mudflats. Ecological sensitivities too dictated careful and detailed work methods close to the waterline, to shore unstable ground conditions and to protect the nearby heritage listed mangroves. This sensitivity placed further obligations on the project managers to responsibly manage materials that had any potential to soak into the soil or overflow into the bay. This also transposed into all paints having to carry the highest environmental ratings.
